SC Szyman uses poster and template forms in his artistic practice. His style is easy to recognise on the streets of Polish cities. His works involve layered, geometric patterns where symmetry plays an vital part.
Szyman has decided, especially for the purpose of the group show Rurales at the Punkt Gallery in Gdynia, to surprise his fans by creating a triptych of paintings. The works feature geometric blocks, crafted out of wooden boards and installed in a way which turns the whole thing into a spacial object. Simple in form, although toying with the human eye and perception, it can hold the interest of all those visiting the gallery. It is an interesting introduction to what may yet be shown as part of his solo show.
