Traditional materials like wood, have a long lasting quality but require patience, whiles synthetics like plastic are more practical but less sustainable.

None of them fit requirements of both contemporary living and economy. Designers try to find a balance between contradictory conditions looking at the nature and its unused resources. What grows, renews and multiplies as easily as degrades and vanishes is the center of designers’ attention. 

Speaker:

  • A designer and educator. A professor at Pratt Institute in New York and School of Form, University SWPS in Poznań, Poland. Also a co-creator of design team Designlab, under which he works for polish and international companies and institutions. A laureate of many contests: he won the first award: in "Design by..." contest and in 10th edition of Sanitec Koło’s contest. His projects were presented on international shows in London, Milan, Berlin, Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and many other exhibitions in Poland and abroad. He was rewarded with the grant of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage and the grant program Młoda Polska. He is a graduate of Interior Architecture in Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, Poland and of Spatial Design in Falmouth College of Arts in Great Britain.
