Gdynia Design Center together with the Faculty of Architecture and Design invites you to this unique exposition for the sixth time!
The Faculty of Architecture and Design in Gdańsk is the biggest faculty of the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk. It combines three courses and possesses one of the richest offers in the country for students of design courses, which is confirmed by entry exams. It is appreciated both in the country as well as abroad which can be clearly seen in the growing interest of students from other countries.
The high variety is especially noticeable in terms of design, where apart from strong basics, students have also access to seven different studios. Product Design, Industrial Design, Serial Furniture Design, Naval Design, Ergonomic Design, Experimental Design and Visual Communication. Architecture is divided into two majors, Interior Design and Architecture in Cultural Spaces. In terms of these we can also notice different approaches, starting with those more urban up to interiors, and focusing on furniture. More than 130 BA and MA diplomas each year.
The diploma exposition always constitutes a premiere unveiling of designs presented to a wide audience. Only 20 works are qualified for the exposition, so the sole participation is already a distinction. From these works, the jury composed of: Marta Flisykowska, Beata Szymańska, Paulina Ryń, Sławomir Fijałkowski, Paulina Kisiel i Kaja Długosz selects two projects, which authors can present themselves in the ELLE magazine and win a trip to the Dutch Design Week.
Participating in a professional festival presenting the latest trends and good practices in terms of designing constitutes an important lesson and distinction for the graduates.
Granting the awards in the AFA DIPLOMAS: ARCHITECTURE AND DESIGN 2018 will take place on July 6th - during the grand opening of the Gdynia Design Days 2018
